Biography
Kyle Agustines (b. 1999) is a queer artist born in Japan and raised in the boreal valleys of the Alaskan Interior. Agustines received his Bachelor of Fine Arts with concentrations in painting and drawing at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2024, where he works as a graphic designer. His abstract compositions celebrate intuition and the imagination, translating outer worlds into surreal imagery and inner experiences into visceral sensations to explore life from alternate perspectives. Treating artwork as place, he investigates the reciprocal relationship of influence between environment and experience through practices of making and reflecting. Agustines has shown work digitally to international audiences while exhibiting in solo, juried, and group exhibitions across the Alaskan Interior.
